Mesa, Ariz. — United Skills Academy continued its impressive opening weekend in the National MADE Hoops Circuit, earning a 52–37 victory over High Desert Elite in a performance defined by poise, balance, and timely shot-making that lifted the team to its second straight win.
United opened the afternoon with a 6–0 run, attacking the basket with composure and setting an early tone. Even as High Desert Elite settled in and countered with a few baskets, USA maintained control through disciplined play and patient ball movement.
The game shifted when Carter Campagna delivered one of the most impactful stretches of the contest. Campagna knocked down threes with confidence, energizing the bench and widening the floor for his teammates. His perimeter shooting not only changed the scoreboard, but also the rhythm of the game, giving United the spark it needed to stay comfortably ahead.
Around him, the rest of the roster contributed in steady, meaningful ways. Logan Pepper, continued to anchor the paint with tough finishes and physical inside play. Adam Myhre provided control and pace, attacking lanes and creating opportunities for others. Myles Carter added rhythm shots that broke up defensive runs, while Xavier Gilkey supplied timely perimeter pressure and floor spacing. Odell Young III brought energy in transition, pushing the tempo at key moments.
Antonio Darden added valuable minutes as well, defending, organizing the offense, and helping maintain United’s composure as the game evolved. The collective effort showed in the team’s ability to limit mistakes, defend without fouling, and stay connected on both ends of the floor.
Under the direction of head coach Maurice “Moe” Carter and assistant coach Joe Eiland, United Skills Academy once again played with the structure and maturity that defined their opening win. Their defensive focus, paired with unselfish offensive play, allowed them to control the pace and keep momentum firmly on their side.
When the final buzzer sounded, the 52–37 score reflected more than a victory—it reflected a group learning to win through discipline, trust, and shared effort. With contributions from every corner of the roster and a standout performance from Campagna providing the timely lift, United Skills Academy improved to 2–0 on the weekend and strengthened its early identity as a team with both potential and purpose.
