Mesa, Ariz. — Maurice “Moe” Carter made his debut as head coach for United Skills Academy in the National MADE Hoops Circuit on Saturday, sharing the wisdom and perspective gained from his time at LSU, the NBA, and abroad. His sideline presence marked not only a coaching debut, but the launch of a comprehensive youth-development model he’s built through the Moe Carter Basketball Academy (MCBA) and the Leaders, Athletes & Believers Lab Foundation.
The debut reflected Carter’s core philosophy: “Basketball is the entry point. Character is the destination.”
Beyond basketball, Carter’s expanding foundation aims to provide academic support, leadership programming, and community enrichment for youth across Phoenix and beyond.
Saturday’s game was the first glimpse of a larger vision.
With a 67–42 victory over NW Magic 2030 Purple, United Skills Academy’s Class of 2030 delivered a complete performance that set a new standard for the program under Coach Maurice Carter’s leadership. The message was clear: this team is built for more.
